Does GenAI Impose a Creativity Tax?
Large language models can make it easier to write code and create reports, among other common business tasks. However, these tools’ output is also more homogenous and typically lacks the originality and creativity of expert human output on the same task. The authors call managers' attention to the risk that, as people try to balance the trade-off between getting optimal output from the tools and working most efficiently, diversity of thought and creativity tend to be lost.
