The Consequences of Unacknowledged Grief in the Workplace
The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in widespread change and, for many, personal loss — perhaps of loved ones, but also of events and structures that had previously provided a sense of safety and security. Many employees are now expected to accept a return to business as usual but are still grieving for what they have lost. The author explains what companies stand to lose when they fail to recognize employees’ grief and suggests ways to provide support to help them move forward.
