A Better Way to Avoid Project Delays
Project delays are often caused by an uninformed or arbitrary anchor — the first piece of information someone receives on a given topic, which is often given more weight than subsequent information. Anchors based on past projects can improve scheduling accuracy and on-time project completion. Experiments show that exposing planners to high or low anchors influences their time estimates, and using reference class information from similar past projects leads to more accurate and reliable schedules.
